Contestants for the Festival of Media Arts submitted their entries in November and the festival committee announced winners in February. The students and faculty in the BYU Broadcast program write and produce the Daily News at Noon, one of only three daily student‐run news shows in the nation. Students in the Broadcast program get hands‐on experience producing the daily news show, with students acting as anchors, writers, editors and executive producers.
“[These awards show] that we have a top-quality program that is recognized by the industry and academics that’s producing top students,” said Chad Curtis, lab manager for BYU’s Daily News. “It’s nice to see their hard work awarded and recognized for its quality.”
